In our unit on Mythology we will be examining the "myth" from many different perspectives.
What is a myth? Why did they come about? What is a hero? What is the heroic cycle? What similarities exist between the myths of various cultures? What roles do myths play in our modern world?
Egyptian, Greek and Roman mythology will all be looked at to help us understand this wonderful part of history. We will combine vocabulary, short stories, poetry, film, art, and various forms of writing to help us along our quest.

Greek Mythology Family Tree
In Greek Mythology we will not only look at some of the main gods/goddesses, but we will also be reading and analyzing the following myths:
- The creation
- Demeter and Persephone
- The creation of man by Prometheus
- Hercules and his twelve great labors
- Daedalus and Icarus
- Orpheus
- Theseus and Ariadne
